GDI Solutions
GDI Solutions fiscal sponsorship program is based on the Model C sponsorship (Grantor-Grantee) framework. GDI Solutions and the fiscally sponsored organization are separate legal, tax, and accounting entities. Accordingly, GDI Solutions (Grantor):
- Accepts charitable funds on behalf of the fiscally sponsored organization (grantee/initiative) and re-grants those funds to the grantee
- Exercises control and oversight over the administration of funds in the Sponsorship program
GDI Solutions’ fiscal sponsorship allows initiatives to immediately obtain the credibility and benefits of 501(c)3 status and start implementation more quickly, minimizing administrative burdens and maximizing outcomes and impact.
It provides more flexible and cost-effective options to support initiatives implemented by GDI and its regional hubs. GDI Solutions offers competitive pricing options for initiatives that have smaller operating budgets by reducing minimum costs that must pass onto initiatives under any fiscal sponsorship agreement (lower minimum costs compared to other fiscal sponsorship programs).
GDI Solutions also provides fiscal sponsorship services to donor collaboratives, including The Agency Fund, who have pooled resources to support high-impact projects in the U.S. and around the world. Under this model, GDI Solutions works with principals of the donor collaborative to receive funding and re-grant to organizations selected through a rigorous application process.
