The Agency Fund
The Agency Fund harnesses the science of human agency to advance economic development and social mobility. Research suggests that investing in people’s self-determination—in their ability to define and pursue a better future—are among the most cost-effective strategies for global development. We work with organizations that leverage advances in data and technology, along with government partnerships, to cost-effectively scale agency-expanding approaches, unlocking vast reserves of human potential.
GDI’s role
GDI provides fiscal sponsorship support to the Agency Fund through GDI Solutions. This includes negotiating/signing agreements from donors, receiving donor funds, conducting due diligence on subawardees, issuing subaward agreements, transferring funds to subawardees, monitoring subawardee performance, and reporting back to donors/the Agency Fund. To date, GDI Solutions has deployed almost $18M in donor funding to over 100 initiatives around the world working to expand human agency in areas such as agriculture, mental health, maternal and neo-natal health, child nutrition, and education.
