GDI Solutions
GDI Solutions, a 501(c)(3) organization controlled by GDI, provides fiscal sponsorship services in order to mitigate barriers that early and mid-stage initiatives and organizations face. GDI Solutions offers Model C fiscal sponsorship (or a pre-approved grant relationship) and Model A fiscal sponsorship (or comprehensive fiscal sponsorship).
GDI Solutions strives to move more and better capital to achieve social impact, but what makes GDI Solutions unique is our commitment to your initiative’s mission. GDI Solutions has fiscally sponsored initiatives and organizations across a variety of sectors including climate, migration, health, and agriculture.
Model C Fiscal Sponsorship
In a pre-approved grant relationship, GDI Solutions and the fiscally-sponsored organization are separate legal, tax, and accounting entities. Accordingly, GDI Solutions (Sponsor) accepts charitable funds on behalf of the fiscally-sponsored organization and re-grants those funds to the fiscally-sponsored organization, while exercising control and oversight over the administration of the funds.
Model A Fiscal Sponsorship
GDI Solutions offers Model A fiscal sponsorship (or comprehensive fiscal sponsorship) to mid-stage global initiatives that are not legally incorporated and are seeking a mission-aligned host and partner to support their operational, finance, and HR needs. Outsourcing these critical operational roles to GDI Solutions ensures that you have a dedicated team with experience overcoming the day-to-day complexities that a social impact initiative with global reach and operations in LMICs can face.
GDI Solutions’ fiscal sponsorship allows initiatives to immediately obtain the credibility and benefits of 501(c)3 status and start implementation more quickly, minimizing administrative burdens and maximizing outcomes and impact.
It provides more flexible and cost-effective options to support initiatives implemented by GDI and its global partners. GDI Solutions offers competitive pricing options for initiatives that have smaller operating budgets by reducing minimum costs that must pass onto initiatives under any fiscal sponsorship agreement (lower minimum costs compared to other fiscal sponsorship programs).
GDI Solutions also provides fiscal sponsorship services to donor collaboratives, including The Agency Fund, which has pooled resources to support high-impact projects in the U.S. and around the world. Under this model, GDI Solutions works with principals of the donor collaborative to receive funding and re-grant to organizations selected through a rigorous application process.
