Melissa Janis serves as the Associate Director of Resource Mobilization and is a global development and philanthropy specialist with over 15 years of experience. She specializes in building funding partnerships to support health, sustainability, and economic development priorities. In her most recent role, she launched and led the corporate foundation of an ethical fashion brand committed to building a responsible textile industry in Africa. In prior roles, she spearheaded global health and climate partnerships at Pfizer and at the aluminum corporation, Alcoa – working with hundreds of leading non-profit organizations, universities, and associations. A former foreign service officer, she supported the US government’s postwar and disaster reconstruction programs in the Balkans and in Indonesia.

Melissa lives in Brooklyn, NY where she is an active volunteer tennis coach for a local children’s development organization and supports her neighborhood animal shelter and community garden.
