Gretchen Phillips

Gretchen Phillips is a member of the GDI Americas board and is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Omidyar Network, where she leads strategic partnerships and operations to bend the arc of the digital revolution toward shared power, prosperity, and possibility. She previously served as Chief Executive Officer of GenerationHope, a consumer products company that reinvests its profits in initiatives for the economic advancement of Filipinos.

Gretchen is passionate about building organizations that drive innovative, market-oriented solutions to enable inclusive and sustainable growth and has worked with a range of organizations to that end, including Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Company, the US Department of State, TechnoServe, and PRADAN.  In addition to the GDI board, Gretchen also serves on the boards of BuildUS (Co-Chair), Aceli Africa (Chair), and Friends of Hope.

She holds an MPA in international development from Harvard University and an A.B. in economics, Spanish, and Latin American studies, summa cum laude, from Duke University.
