Greeshma Hegde

Greeshma joins GDI South Asia as a Senior Associate on the Strategy & Build team. She is a key member of our Circularity initiative team, where her role focuses on designing ventures to support waste management, entrepreneurship, and informal livelihoods.

Greeshma has over 9 years of experience with a focus on climate impact and social justice in India. She previously led a circular textiles program at Enviu India, building social impact ventures to reduce landfill waste, and creating opportunities for marginalized communities. Her experience also includes applying systems thinking to address complex challenges and unlocking philanthropic support for development initiatives. Passionate about balancing development with sustainability, Greeshma is committed to making the solid waste management market more accessible and profitable for informal workers and entrepreneurs.

Greeshma holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Climate Science and Policy. She is also a published author including contributions to IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report and Nature Climate Change.

Greeshma is based out of Bangalore, India, and is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking and cycling.
