Gacheri Njogu Ndongwe

Dr. Gacheri Njogu Ndongwe serves as the NurtureFirst Chief Executive Officer.

She brings more than 20 years of experience as a medical doctor, public health expert, entrepreneur, management consultant, and non-profit leader overseeing large-scale programs in health, education, gender, and social protection. In her most recent role as Regional Director for East and Southern Africa at IDinsight, where she advised on data and evidence and developed the first regional strategy, oversaw revenue growth of more than 150% in just 2.5 years, and led various digital, health, and women’s empowerment initiatives in Africa and India. Gacheri has also worked with McKinsey & Company and Centre for Health Solutions – Kenya, and consulted for UNOPS, WHO, and The Global Fund, among others.

She holds a Master’s and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from the University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Science in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nairobi.
