Aakash Shah

Aakash Shah is an Advisory Board member of GDI South Asia and is a Partner at Peak Sustainability Ventures, one of India’s pioneering climate VC funds. He is passionate about addressing large-scale climate issues by backing high-impact, scalable climate innovations.

Aakash is an experienced investor, entrepreneur, and operator. He has 10+ years of VC experience and has built domain expertise across Energy, Food Systems, Water, Climate, and several other verticals. Prior to Peak, he co-led the Asia portfolio at Accion Venture Lab (Washington D.C.), a global financial inclusion VC fund. Aakash also previously led early-stage deals at Sattva Capital (Mumbai), a private investment office, and worked at Contrarian Partners (Mumbai), a generalist VC fund.

Aakash has built strong operating experience as the CEO and co-founder of neonVest, a New York-based, VC-backed tech startup connecting early-stage founders to top-tier VCs globally. He is actively involved in the climate ecosystem globally and has given a TEDx talk on “The ‘Hidden Cost’ of Everything We Do.” Aakash holds a B.Sc. in Finance and International Business from NYU Stern School of Business.
