Nurture First
Nurture First is a systems strengthening funder collaborative designed to scale effective support programmes worldwide, standardizing care and elevating the sector to deliver outcomes that will impact children, women, economic growth and wider society. Working with 100 communities in the next ten years and bringing together childcare providers, parents, communities, early childhood development experts and government stakeholders, this global initiative is supporting the childcare sector to deliver holistic, child development outcomes, as well as provide numerous benefits for families and society, such as women’s economic empowerment and creation of quality jobs within communities in Kenya.
GDI’s role
GDI designed and is implementing this systems changing initiative in three communities in Kenya: Murang’a, Kisumu and Mombasa as we strive to ensure that childcare providers are recognised by the Government of Kenya, as a critical workforce supportive of young children in the communities.
