The World Health Organization estimates that nearly one billion people are visually impaired because they do not have access to eyeglasses. By orchestrating powerful collaborations and engaging in market shaping, the EYElliance is working to transform systems and ensure that everyone has access to the eyeglasses they need to see clearly, no matter where they live. By 2030, the EYElliance aims to bring routine, reliable access to eyeglasses to 250M adults and 90M children across more than 20 countries.
From success at VisionSpring, Jordan Kassalow approached GDI to help launch the EYElliance. GDI served as the initial home for the effort where we helped develop the initial strategy and business plan, create the call to action to build partnerships, and facilitate the initial Steering Committee, among other areas of support.
