Natural climate solutions provide up to 37% of the emission reductions needed by 2030 to keep global temperature increases under 2 degrees Celsius while addressing biodiversity loss and soil health, but are dramatically underfunded with private capital sitting on the sidelines. Colibri is a blended finance facility focused on catalyzing nature-based climate solutions and aiming to demonstrate how they can drive financial returns.
GDI’s role
GDI has set up Colibri as a subsidiary in order to provide the fiduciary track record and financial support for donors and investors. We have helped advise the legal structuring, strategy development and fundraising efforts, with GDI leadership serving on the Colibri Board.
