Julie holds the position of Associate at GDI Africa and serves in the capacity of Global Programs Associate at NurtureFirst, one of GDI’s incubated Initiatives. Prior to her role at GDI, she worked as an Analyst at Taumba Advisory, a boutique management consulting firm specializing in financial advisory and human capital management services for SMEs, boards, investors, and NGOs in emerging markets. In this role, Julie conducted extensive research and analysis, led client and stakeholder engagements, and authored reports and articles on topics including sustainable finance, infrastructure financing, and human capital.

Julie is dedicated to fostering positive change in Africa, particularly in areas such as education, improving livelihoods, and youth employment. Notably, she co-authored a GDI report advocating for enhanced early childhood development delivery in Kenyan counties.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Moi University in Eldoret, Kenya, is a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA), and is currently pursuing a Master of Development Studies degree at the University of Nairobi.

In her free time, Julie enjoys listening to Afro-fusion music and reading books on various subjects, including spirituality, personal development, and African history.
