The Centre for Men and Boys is a field-building platform in India working to support healthier lives, relationships, and futures for boys and men—while advancing gender justice as a shared, positive-sum agenda.
CFMB is anchored in the belief that boys’ and men’s wellbeing, agency, and sense of belonging are inseparable from collective thriving. The systems that shape their lives—including education, work, digital culture, health, care, and relationships—play a powerful role in how masculinity is formed, experienced, and expressed.
Working across media, markets, and governance, CFMB sits at the intersection of insight-building, narrative change, and institutional action. Through this work, CFMB aims to help India’s gender ecosystem engage boys and men with greater rigor, empathy, and accountability—supporting their wellbeing and pathways to adulthood while strengthening the broader movement for gender justice.
GDI’s role
GDI is supporting CFMB through its design and early field building phase, moving from an emerging idea to a credible platform in India’s gender ecosystem. As a strategic partner, GDI is helping CFMB define its field-level role, build its institutional foundations, and grow its partnerships and influence.
