GDI’s role

After supporting an impact scaling strategy for mental health NGO BasicNeeds, GDI and BasicNeeds founder Chris Underhill realized collective action across sectors would be essential to truly moving the needle on mental health – citiesRISE became that initiative. Throughout the design, build, and launch processes, GDI has provided citiesRISE with support including developing a brand, building a global steering committee to provide accountability and oversight, bringing on a full-time CEO, and formalizing a number of key partnerships.
